Going out
poem
Down by the water, my love, Let us addle our brains: What constrains The brave mind From waltzing above Informational trains? With a dip In the sound Of the radio, I Or you or I found Our hearts gave a bound; To the circular drip Of the news, your muse Thought it unwound In images drowned Profound and inane, Analytic, insane: It took a deep breath And dove in again. O, the brain; Down by the water, my love Let us wander above The stream of events And electrical pain, Let us go out at evening And come home in chains.
